These days, as if I didn’t have enough to do, I have to answer the reccuring question, “so what do we do at SpringStage? Being an educated chap I can’t not give a proper answer, so lets cut to the chase and see what its all about.
Ours is a “School Camp”, and therefore from the name we can gather it’s a training camp. Last year we chose the slogan “learning by doing”, and our objective is to provide in depth preparation on the themes of civil protection and medical emergency, with a strong emphasis on “doing”.
The very structure of the School Camp allows us to favour the practical side more than the classroom presentation which for logistical reasons is used most in our training courses.
SpringStage 2010 will essentially be a great occasion to test ourselves with a tight program of drills and activities carried out in a “safe” environment, with the assistance of many, very experienced instructors. After this description, if I wasn’t already in the organisation, I would be rushing to sign up for the camp…
More news will follow, so stay tuned!

I am going to avoid cliches about time flying etc. etc, and would just point out that this is now the 4th edition of our SpringStage School, a huge satisfaction for an event that started out very modestly and has slowly become a reference point in the training of disaster relief in Florence and beyond.
The importance of this type of activity is, sadly, very clear to us all. We had not even closed the emergency in Abruzzo when our Association was suddenly involved on the other side of the ocean in one of the greatest tragedies of recent times. Due to these experiences which have caused us to inevitably mature, I am sure that the 2010 edition of SpringStage will be particularly involving.
If you have the patience to follow this blog, in the following days you will discover what the Staff have prepared, both for those who want to return and repeat the experience, and for those who will be joining our SpringStage for the first time.
If you have any doubts, perplexities or just questions write to us in the comment section of this post. The registrations are already open, just follo the links. See you soon!
